Unique Ways to Save Money on Birthday Parties - Business Debt ...

The time of the year when you got to plan something special for your kid?s birthday party is perhaps the toughest one. It makes you happy at the same time worried. These are the times when even if you are going through a financial crisis you just cannot manage to see your kid?s sad face!
So, what is it that you can do that can make it special without burning a hole in your pocket? Have you thought of any ways in which you can double the fun but reduce the expenses?
If not, then here are some great tips that can help you plan a wonderful birthday bash for your kid without getting broke:

  1. Send an e-invite: The invitations for birthday parties are normally send to the parents. So when sending invitations you may think of ways that can save you money and time. Opting for fine prints or cards will just be a waste of money as the kids will hardly be interested in them. The parents on the other hand would just like to know the venue and timings of the party. It would therefore be advisable to sent e-invitations of the party or scribble down the information on a picture drawn by your kid. That will give it a personalized feel and will also save you a lot of money.
  2. Make the cake at home: Though the cakes from the cake shop seem a delight they may cost you a great deal of money. Moreover if you have invited a lot of kids it may not be sufficient for all. Instead if you bake homemade cakes and cookies the kids will be more than happy. Baking the flavor of the cake that your kids like the best will be a good idea. Add some delicious toppings of chocolate toys, cream or fruits to make it look classy. Make in large quantities so you can offer some to the parents when they come to receive their kids.
  3. Keep the decorations trendy: In order to make the decorations look vibrant you do not need to spend a lot. You just need to be creative with a good sense of style. Apart from putting fresh flowers in the pots you can add a party theme to make it more enjoyable. You can also decorate the room with stuffs like small toys, plastic horses, Star war model figure, toy trains, dolls, fairies etc. This will add the perfect touch to the birthday party as the kids will feel at home. You can encourage them to play with the toys of their choice and gift them the same as return gifts.
  4. Minimize your invitations: The birthday party of your kid is more about the kids than the parents or relatives who live far away. The kids are not quite concerned with a full-fledged menu. They will be quite happy with the cakes, cookies, chocolates and some snacks. It would thus be a good idea to invite only the kids who are friends of your kid or some neighborhood kids. Do not send it as a family invitation. Also minimize the number of your personal guests as more the number, more will be the expenses.

Get the timing right: You can actually save a lot of money if you get the timing of the party right. If you invite on a lunch or dinner you may need to serve a proper meal to the guests. But if you invite the kids for an evening snack and ask the parents to pick them up around 8 or 8.30 pm some homemade snacks, cakes, cookies and chocolates will be sufficient. You do not have to make or order a costly meal yet you can manage to throw a proper birthday party for your kid.
